SASSA Payment Dates for November 2026: Revised Dates Because of the Elections

SASSA announced on 14 October 2026 that the November grant payments would move to avoid the election day public holiday. National Treasury approved the new schedule. If you saw 3, 4 and 5 November on a calendar earlier this year, those were the original dates and they have been replaced.
Revised SASSA Payment Dates for November 2026
| Grant | New payment date | Day | Old date (cancelled) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Older Persons Grant | 30 October 2026 | Friday | 3 November 2026 |
| Disability Grant | 2 November 2026 | Monday | 4 November 2026 |
| Children’s Grants | 3 November 2026 | Tuesday | 5 November 2026 |
| Grants under review | 5 November 2026 | Thursday | 6 November 2026 |
| SRD R370 | No single date | Varies | Check your own SRD status |
Grant-in-Aid is an extra amount added to another grant, so it is paid on the same day as the main grant it belongs to.
Older Persons Grant: Paid Early on 30 October
The biggest change is for pensioners. The November Older Persons Grant will be paid on Friday, 30 October 2026, which is still in October.
This early payment is your November grant. There will not be a second Older Persons payment in early November. The next Older Persons payment after this one is the December payment on Wednesday, 2 December 2026.
That means the money paid on 30 October has to last about 33 days instead of the usual four weeks. If you manage a pensioner’s money, or a household depends on the grant, plan for the longer gap:
- Pay fixed costs such as rent, electricity and burial society premiums first.
- Buy bulk groceries once, rather than spending the full amount in the first week.
- Keep some money aside for the last week of November.
- Do not borrow against the grant to cover the gap. It is illegal for a lender to keep your SASSA card, ID or PIN.
Disability Grant: Monday, 2 November 2026
Disability Grants will be paid on Monday, 2 November 2026, two days earlier than the original date of 4 November.
If your grant is paid into a bank account, check the account from 2 November. You do not have to withdraw the money on the same day. It stays in your account until you need it.
Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 3 November 2026
Children’s grants, such as the Child Support Grant and the Foster Child Grant, will be paid on Tuesday, 3 November 2026. This is the day before the election, and two days earlier than the original date.
If you collect money at a retailer or ATM, it may be easier to go on 3 November or after election day. Wednesday 4 November is a public holiday, and many people will be travelling to and from voting stations.
Grants Under Review: Thursday, 5 November 2026
SASSA set a separate date, Thursday, 5 November 2026, for beneficiaries whose grants are under review.
If SASSA has contacted you about a review, respond to the official message and go to your review appointment if one was booked. SASSA has asked beneficiaries under review to respond to official communication and attend review appointments when requested.
If you are not sure whether your grant is under review, you can phone SASSA’s toll-free line on 0800 60 10 11. See our guide on how to check your SASSA grant status for other options.
Why SASSA Changed the November Dates
South Africa holds its local government elections on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, and the President has declared the day a public holiday. The original payment schedule put the Disability Grant on 4 November, which is now a public holiday, and placed the other payment days right around the election.
SASSA said the revised dates are meant to keep grant payments efficient and secure, with as little disruption as possible during the election period. SASSA has also asked beneficiaries not to visit its offices unnecessarily, because payments will follow the announced schedule.
How Much Will Each Grant Pay in November 2026?
The amounts did not change. The new dates only move the day you are paid. These are the monthly amounts that have applied since 1 April 2026:
| Grant | Monthly amount |
|---|---|
| Older Persons Grant (60 to 74) | R2,400 |
| Older Persons Grant (75 and older) | R2,420 |
| Disability Grant | R2,400 |
| Care Dependency Grant | R2,400 |
| War Veterans Grant | R2,420 |
| Foster Child Grant | R1,290 |
| Child Support Grant | R580 |
| Grant-in-Aid | R580 |
| SRD grant | R370 |
For more detail about who qualifies for each grant, see our guide to the types of SASSA grants.
What About the SRD R370 Payment in November?
The SRD R370 grant does not follow the 30 October, 2 November and 3 November dates. Those dates are for the permanent grants listed above.
SRD payments are made after each month’s application is checked and approved, and the payment day can be different for each person. To see if your November SRD month is approved and whether a payment date has been set:
- Go to the official SRD website at srd.sassa.gov.za.
- Choose the status check option.
- Enter the ID number and the cellphone number you used to apply.
- Look at the November line, not an earlier month.
The SRD grant is funded until 31 March 2027. If your status is declined, read our guide to SASSA SRD declined reasons before you appeal.
Do You Have to Withdraw Your Grant on Payment Day?
No. The payment date is the first day the money is available. It is not a deadline.
If your grant goes into a bank account, the money stays there until you withdraw or spend it. There is no benefit in queuing at an ATM early on payment day. Lines are usually shortest a few days later.
If you still use an old SASSA gold card, read our guide on the SASSA gold card and the Postbank black card so your payment is not interrupted.
What If Your November Payment Does Not Arrive?
First check that you are looking at the right date for your grant. Many websites still show the old November dates.
- Make sure the new date for your grant type has passed (30 October, 2 November or 3 November).
- Check your bank statement or mini statement, not only the balance.
- If your grant is under review, wait for 5 November.
- Check whether SASSA has sent you an SMS about a review or verification.
- If the date has passed and the money is still missing, call SASSA on 0800 60 10 11 or visit your nearest SASSA office.
You can also check whether money has reached your account with our SASSA balance check guide.
Beware of Fake SASSA Messages About the New Dates
Changes to payment dates are a common time for scams. Remember:
- SASSA does not charge money to move your payment, speed up a review or “unlock” a grant.
- Never share your PIN, OTP or card details with anyone, even someone who says they work for SASSA.
- Only trust dates from SASSA’s official channels and from reputable news sources that quote SASSA.
When Is the Next SASSA Payment After November?
| Grant | November 2026 (revised) | December 2026 |

| Disability Grant | 2 November 2026 | 3 December 2026 |
