APS Calculation
VUT requires you to meet both a minimum APS (Admission Point Score) and specific subject requirements for your chosen qualification.
- VUT generally calculates the APS based on your six best subjects from your National Senior Certificate (NSC).
- Life Orientation (LO) is NOT included in the APS calculation at VUT.
- Minimum APS scores vary significantly by faculty and programme. For example, some diplomas may require a minimum APS of 20, while specialized degrees may require 26 or higher.
Admission Status
- Final Results: If you have your final Grade 12 results, the system will only allow you to view and apply for qualifications you are eligible for based on those results.
- First-Come, First-Served: Admissions are based on merit and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Accepting an offer does not guarantee registration; your space is only secured upon final registration.
