The league results come from the PSL match centre on psl.co.za. A few details:

  • The 1-0 win over Polokwane City on 18 October was the first league win of the season. Michel N’Guessan scored in the 90th minute. It ended a run of seven league games without a win and was Siwelele’s first clean sheet of the season.
  • In the Carling Knockout on 24 October, goalkeeper Jody February saved two penalties in the shoot-out. Siwelele finished the game with 10 men after Aphiwe Baliti was sent off in extra time.
  • The 3-2 defeat at Chiefs on 6 September was the last game before the club changed its coaching staff.

Where Siwelele stand on the log

After nine league games, Siwelele had 6 points, 9 goals scored and 16 conceded, a goal difference of minus 7. That put them 14th of 16 in early November 2026. In the PSL Premiership, the team in 16th place goes down and the team in 15th goes into the promotion and relegation play-offs, so the gap to the bottom two matters. Siwelele’s Coach

Siwelele started 2026/27 with Lehlohonolo Seema, the former Bloemfontein Celtic captain who was named the club’s head coach in July 2025. On 7 September 2026, after the defeat at Chiefs, the club relieved Seema and his assistant Willem Jackson of their first-team duties. Chairman Calvin le John said the supporters “deserve better” and that the club would review the senior team and its technical programme.

Former Siwelele player and club official Godfrey Mosoetsa took over as caretaker with immediate effect. The club said it would announce its coaching structure once the review was complete. By 7 November 2026 we had found no club statement naming a permanent head coach, so this page will be updated when one is announced.

Where Siwelele FC Come From

Siwelele did not grow out of the lower leagues. In 2025, the new owners bought SuperSport United’s place in the PSL Premiership and moved the team to Bloemfontein, with Calvin le John as chairman.

Many fans link Siwelele with Bloemfontein Celtic, the city’s old top-flight club and Seema’s former team, but the two are different clubs. Celtic was sold and moved to KwaZulu-Natal in 2021. For many Free State fans, Siwelele is the closest thing to having a Bloemfontein team in the top flight again.

Siwelele FC Questions

Who is the Siwelele FC coach?

Since 7 September 2026, the first team has been led by caretaker Godfrey Mosoetsa, a former Siwelele player and club official. The club let head coach Lehlohonolo Seema and assistant Willem Jackson go after a poor start to the season. By 7 November 2026 no permanent coach had been announced.

Where do Siwelele play their home games?

In Bloemfontein. Their home league games in 2026/27 so far were at Free State Stadium, and Dr Molemela Stadium is listed for their home games from December 2026.

When do Siwelele play Kaizer Chiefs in the Carling Knockout?

On Sunday 8 November 2026 at 18:00, at New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. It is a quarter-final, so the winner goes to the semi-finals.

Where are Siwelele on the PSL log?

14th, with 6 points from nine games, in early November 2026.

Is Siwelele FC the same as Bloemfontein Celtic?

No. Siwelele FC was formed in 2025 by buying SuperSport United’s top-flight place. Bloemfontein Celtic was sold and moved to KwaZulu-Natal in 2021. The two clubs are separate, but Siwelele plays in Bloemfontein and many Celtic fans support it.
