What to Take to the Test
- The vehicle’s registration certificate.
- Your ID.
- The test fee.
- The completed application form for a certificate of roadworthiness (ACR), available at the testing station.
Fees are set by the testing station or municipality, so ask for the price when you book.
Tips to Pass the First Time
- Check every light, including number plate lights and the third brake light.
- Replace worn tyres and windscreen wipers.
- Fix any windscreen cracks in the driver’s line of sight.
- Make sure all seat belts work.
- Fix oil leaks and exhaust problems.
- Take the vehicle in clean, so the inspector can see the numbers and parts.
If the vehicle fails, the station tells you what to fix. Repair it and take it back for a retest.
Where to Get a Roadworthy Test
Use an approved vehicle testing station. Municipal testing stations and approved private testing stations can do the test. Ask your local licensing office for approved stations near you.
